Washington County Animal Abuse Relief Fund

Nonprofit Overview

WAARF's mission is to provide financial assistance for major medical expenses incurred by animals rescued by Washington County animal-focused non-profits. In addition, WAARF provides burial assistance to veterans and first responders who have lost a service animal. Last year, WAARF paid for the coffin and burial of a veteran's medical service dog at Oak Springs Cemetery in Canonsburg. Recently, WAARF contributed to the Washington County Sheriff's acquisition of their courthouse facility, K9 Myya. Myya will provide emotional support to victims of various crimes.

WAARF obtains its funding through private donations, donations from individuals when they purchase their dog license, and fundraisers.
