Mon Valley Alliance Foundation
Nonprofit Overview
Connecting You to the Resources that Matter!
The Mon Valley Alliance Foundation (MVAF) supports small business growth in the Mid Mon Valley through its Business Resource Center (BRC), located at 235 W Main Street in Monongahela.
The BRC offers a welcoming space where entrepreneurs can access educational workshops, one-on-one technical assistance, and strategic guidance tailored to their needs. We help businesses at every stage—whether launching, scaling, or stabilizing—by connecting them to funding opportunities, marketing support, and expert partners.
Our goal is to ensure that even the most remote communities in this four-county region have access to the tools they need to thrive. MVAF also works closely with local municipalities and nonprofits to build capacity and drive regional revitalization.
By investing in small businesses, we’re not just supporting individual entrepreneurs—we’re strengthening the entire Mid Mon Valley economy.

Current Needs
To continue and expand this work, MVAF is seeking funding to support the operations and programming of the BRC. Core initiatives include hosting three Ignite Ideas2Enterprise cohorts annually, organizing regular networking events to foster collaboration among business owners and community leaders, and offering municipal trainings that build local capacity and support effective governance. The BRC also provides one-on-one business guidance and serves as a connector between regional resources and Valley-based businesses, nonprofits, and municipalities.
Funds raised by the Washington County Community Foundation (WCCF) will directly support the continued growth and development of the BRC—ensuring that it remains a cornerstone of innovation, collaboration, and economic opportunity in the Mon Valley. With sustained investment, the BRC can expand its reach, deepen its impact, and help build a more resilient and thriving regional economy.
