Current Needs

The Literacy Council of SWPA is committed to supporting the almost 500 students that we serve. The majority of our students work in jobs at the lower end of the pay spectrum and our Student Emergency Relief Fund (SERF) allows us to provide assistance to our students for critical needs such as food, gas, baby essentials, and household items. We are experiencing another record-breaking year in enrollments due to our students now moving their spouses, children, and extended relatives to live and raise their families in our area. Due to this unprecedented growth, the demand for basic everyday necessities is more prevalent than ever. Support for SERF is needed now more than ever to sustain our student's quality of life.
