Burgettstown Area School District

Nonprofit Overview

The Burgettstown Area SD is in a rural setting which encompasses approximately 106 square miles and services students from the Borough of Burgettstown, Hanover Township, Jefferson Township and Smith Township. The administrative offices are located on 100 Bavington Road, Burgettstown, PA 15021. We have (1) one elementary school (K-5) and (1) one middle high school (6-12). Approximately 45% of the students within the Burgettstown Area School District qualify for free or reduced meals. The district provides educational services to approximately 1000 students. We place a strong emphasis on our STEAM program, utilizing Coding at the upper grade levels and a Makerspace at the Elementary center. As our mission states, aim to create a better everyday life for students by empowering them to develop a curiosity for learning while discovering their interests. At Burgettstown our dedicated and experienced staff make a positive impact to ensure our mission is upheld.

Current Needs

Equipment, technology and software are a priority at this time.

Items of need are Esports equipment/software, video production equipment / software, 3D printers, CNC router machine, large format printers, water jet cutter, AVR equipment. From a STEM perspective, the District's greatest need is to continue to build our K-12 STEM offerings. In addition to expanding our STEM program, we would like to enhance our Media centers at both the Middle High School and Elementary centers.

Boost Bag Program
At present, our district offers a program for weekends and extended breaks, catering to students who require meals. The district is seeking additional support in the form of monetary and food donations to supplement this program.
