At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Pittsburgh, we recruit, screen, match, and support mentoring relationships for youth, at no cost, in Allegheny, Greene, and Washington counties. Through our school and community-based programs, we’re meeting the evolving needs of young people by ensuring every youth has access to an empowering, committed mentor. These relationships spark lifelong bonds built on trust and shared growth, proving that we are truly Bigger Together.

Mentorship provides young people with the tools to adapt and thrive in a shifting landscape: confidence in their own abilities, exposure to new opportunities, and guidance from caring adults who expand their sense of what is possible. Through a variety of school and community-based programs, we are meeting the evolving needs of young people by ensuring that all youth have access to empowering, committed mentors who ignite lifelong bonds forged through genuine connection. Right now, our greatest need lies in ensuring we have a large enough pool of mentors to match youth in a timely and effective manner. Every match begins with one person willing to show up, listen, and invest in a young person’s potential.

There is truly something for everyone at Big Brothers Big Sisters. Our mentorship opportunities are flexible and accessible, allowing volunteers to engage in ways that best fit their schedules. We’re seeking adults, age 21 and older, who can make a one-year commitment—a small investment of time that can make a life-changing impact.
